VISITING ST. PETERSBURG
Visa
In order to enter Russia, any foreign citizen should observe the following requirements:
- The passport must be valid minimum 6 months beyond intended stay;
- Tickets for return or onward travel;
- Russian visa;
- Vaccinations are not required.
Russian entry visas can be obtained at Russian Embassies or Consulates in the country of residence of the foreign citizen on the grounds of a formal invitation.
Having received your invitation please contact the Russian Consulate in your country of residence and find out the conditions for receiving a visa of interest. Prepare the package of required documents and file them to the Consulate. After receiving your visa please check its regularity.
Your visa should be registered within 3 business days from the date of arrival in Russia. If you are staying at a hotel, the registration of your visa for the term of your intended stay is incumbent on the hotel management.

Airports
«Pulkovo» airport is one of the biggest and most dynamic Russian air transportation centers. Flights to Pulkovo Airport are held by around 100 foreign and 120 Russian airlines. The infrastructure of Pulkovo Airport includes an aerodrome with two runways, two terminals, a cargo terminal, a fuel supply complex, a parking complex and other objects of infrastructure. The terminals provide passengers with all the necessary conveniences, such as comfortable waiting areas, over 100 outlets and service points, VIP halls, business lounges, etc.

The Pulkovo-1 Airport servicing domestic and charter flights is situated 15 km from St. Petersburg.
The international Pulkovo Airport is situated 10 km from St. Petersburg.

You can easily go to the city by bus or minibus taxi (nearest metro station is Moskovskaya). Besides, a comfortable "Airport Express" bus makes trips between the airport and Pushkinskaya metro station. Those preferring personal transport can take advantage of various parking opportunities.

Customs
Foreign citizens may import cars for individual use without paying custom duties for the whole period of their stay.
Such cars must be registered. Driving unregistered foreign cars within the Russian Federation is prohibited. Upon registration you should present an insurance policy, executed for the whole period of your car’s planned stay within the territory of the Russian Federation. An insurance policy may be executed upon entering the territory of the Russian Federation.
Custom clearance and registration of the car is held upon entering the territory of the Russian Federation if the aforesaid car is driven by the person conveying it, and at the location of temporary residence of the person conveying the car, if the aforesaid car is imported separately from such person.
Besides, custom clearance of temporary import of spare parts and tires must be executed as well. These spare parts and tires must be exported from Russia thereafter.
